OVERVIEW
"TeaMars" is a Taiwanese tea culture brand that draws inspiration from the historical "Tea and Horse Trade" of the Song Dynasty. It aims to redefine modern Eastern tea drinking culture by integrating elements of tea history from the past and future into its space. This concept is brought to life through an arched wall symbolizing "time travel," constructed using traditional rusted materials mixed with futuristic furniture, offering a captivating experience of journeying through millennia.
"Variation" is the core concept of this project, reproducing and deconstructing, blending warmth and coolness; presenting when harmonious, concealing when not.
The designer crafted three layers of ceilings, integrating the primary tone of space gray, Eastern Zen-like grids, and a galaxy-like skyline. Linear light columns deliver messages from space, hanging vertically from the ceiling. Warm gray-toned artistic paint covers the entire room, simplifying material application to highlight the beauty of proportions.
The Moon Pavilion section blurs the line between reality and illusion with custom light films and metallic wave panels, as if wandering in space, reaching out to touch planets. The second pavilion section references the Tang Dynasty literati Lu Yu's work "The Classic of Tea," emphasizing the significance of Eastern tea culture in contemporary mass culture.
"TeaMars" is not just a tea shop but also a journey.
